Hello, Internet friend/bud/legend.

In today's edition of Creativity ▶ Cashflow, we're focusing on persuasion in marketing. Namely:

- How to practice persuasive writing, and
- How to get clarity on what you are most likely to be persuaded by

Let's dive in.

x1 Blog to Become a Persuasive Writing "God"

Copyblogger is an OG content marketing team, posting since 2006. In a recent blog article, they break down 10 timeless writing techniques to learn about persuasion in marketing.

Here's a quick overview:

  • Agitation: Your prospect is facing a problem they want to be solved. Show empathy. Explain why they need to solve the problem now. Then, give them a clear picture of what the solution looks like.

  • Comparisons: Talking about a dry or complex topic? Use analogies and metaphors to be more relatable and bring the fun to your writing.

  • Consistency: Don't mislead or confuse. Always follow through on the headline and your initial promise.

  • Objections: What are the three main objections people may have about your product or service? Clarify these so prospects feel like you can read their mind.

  • Prognosticate: Predictions of disaster are hard to ignore. While you don't need to be annoyingly dramatic, reference future possibilities and predictions that relate to your niche. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

  • Reasons why: "Because" may be the most persuasive word in the English language. We're meaning-seekers. We want to know the why behind the what.

  • Repetition: Explain and restate your main point in different ways, until you've made it impossible for the reader to forget it.

  • Social proof: We're lazy. We look for guidance from others so that we don't have to think too hard ourselves. Testimonials and reviews give us helpful clues.

  • Storyselling: Telling stories is at the heart of persuasion. A great story acts as a bridge to make people give a c**p about what you sell.

  • Unify: You'll have experienced cliques at school or the workplace. They can be toxic. But we're tribal by nature. Offer people a chance to be part of the "in-group" by becoming a customer. Masterminds and communities promote unity.

x3 Content Nuggets That Got My Attention

1) Persuade through replicability.

You're constantly solving problems that other people in your niche want to address too. Once you've cracked the code for yourself, document how you did it. Sell this knowledge/experience in a product so that other people can replicate your success.

2) A short case study on Gary Vee's personal brand.

I don't like Gary Vaynerchuk. Yet, I can respect the huge following and online presence he has built over the past couple of decades. Discover how he has kept the narrative of his personal brand consistent to maximize his persuasiveness.

3) 5 things you must consider before launching a product or service to ensure its success.

To build an inherently persuasive business that attracts customers like bees to honey, it must do the following:
- Be unique or disruptive in nature
- Evolve with the needs of the market
- Have the potential to be scalable
