60 Seconds on Fascinations in Copywriting

What the frick are fascinations?

This was my first thought when I heard the term. So no worries if that’s your reaction right now!

Essentially, fascinations are bullet points. But super swish and sexy ones.

Instead of laying out your product/service features in a boring, formulaic swamp of words — why not spice it up a bit, right?

Keep those readers’ pupils directly on your copy, line by line…

And yes, this can work for:

  • Sales letters

  • Emails

  • Blog intros

  • Etc, etc

Without further delay, here’s an example of how to turn standard copy into MUCH more intriguing fascinations:

Original:

“Learn techniques to minimize your stress in our Stress Less program.”

Fascination:

“Inside our Stress Less program, you’ll discover:

  • How to bring your stress levels down from an 8/10 to a 4/10 within 90 seconds

  • The secret body language hacks to release tension during meetings and presentations

  • What NEVER to say to yourself when you’re about to enter a high-stress situation

  • Why cutting down stress by even 10% can influence your relationships, happiness, and work performance”

See?

A considerable improvement. I just invented this program on the spot but damn, I’m curious to find out more!

So next time you need to summarize a product or service, try some fascinations…

How / What / When / Why — begin each line with these kinds of words. Watch your copy sharpen up, fast.
